Choose what should happen to calls

The instructions update as soon as you choose a provider. Choose the call behavior first, then use the matching line in the provider steps.

Traditional line

Usually uses star codes from the phone keypad. Use no-answer forwarding when the front desk should still get the first chance.

Mobile line

Usually uses GSM-style codes that include the forwarding number and a # at the end.

Cloud phone

Usually uses an admin portal. Add Expertly Voice as an external forwarding number in the call handling rule.

Setup script: "I am going to place one test call from a second phone. Please do not answer the business phone unless we are testing normal front-desk pickup."

All-call test: "The business phone should not ring. The call should go straight to Expertly Voice."

No-answer test: "Let the business phone ring twice. If no one answers, Expertly Voice should pick up before the old voicemail does."

Handoff: "We set call forwarding from your business number to Expertly Voice at your Expertly Voice number. If you need to turn forwarding off, use the matching cancel code or the same phone-system portal where the rule was created."
